Why laptop/PC does not connects the router at top link speed even at full strength

Sometimes our laptop or PC doesn't connect to our WiFi router at full link speed even at full signal strength. The devices connect to router at 32 or 65 or 72 Mbps instead of 54Mbps, 150Mbps or 300Mbps in such cases.

Well this is not a fault at all. Actually different WiFi enabled devices may be your PC, laptop or smartphone have different types of WiFi adapters. According to IEEE standards devices may be 8.02.11 b/g/n. The oldest ones are 802.11b with a low link speed ou up to 11Mbps. Typically in a network any device may be of low configuration, suppose its a 802.11B/g and doesn't supports 802.11n. Then in this case the router slows down its speed to synchronize with th slower devices and the faster devices too have not any other option else connecting the router at the slower speed .

If you want to know about how to connect your devices with your wifi router at max possible speed, you can check it here.
