Although microsoft claims that Windows 8 is made enough secure to run safely without any antiviruses or internet security, but one needs these and it feels somewhat unsafe without antivirus softwares.
A widely trusted antivirus Avira still does not supports Windows 8 even after release of its consumer preview. Although it installs and everything seems to be fine, and even the scans run properly, but the updates are the issue. Avira continuously keeps reminding to update the threat database, but on checking for updates, updater responds that the database is up-to-date and actually no updates are downloaded.
So avira users may need to wait until avira starts to support Microsoft's new Big, Windows 8.
