Windows 8 Tips

Many of us are using Windows 8 from its first public release, the developer preview. The Windows 8 is Microsoft's most sophisticated operating system. It has a fully new interface and lots of new features. To  use it more conveniently and more efficiently, there are a few tips.
 Keep it up to date

• Windows updates bring all necessary security updates and bug fixes, so keep updating your PC to avail these free benefits
  
  
• Install "Start8" to get the windows traditional start button back
  This new version of windows is missing the standard Start button, making a tough experience with mouse. You can install Start8, a free toll to grt that start button back.
  
  
• Turn off Windows Smart Screen if you are an advanced user and need to install new software and programs frequently
  Windows 8 has an built in security feature which scans all new programs to be installed, its reliability is second issues, but its too slow and sometimes PC seems to be freeze, so turn it off.
  
  
• Install some sidebar gadget to quickly shutdown and restart your PC
  Shutting down Windows 8 needs lots of gestures as there is no direct option to log-off, switch user, restart or shutdown. Well you can do it by several means explained here.
  
  
• Besides usual Shutdowns, Restart your Windows 8 PC at-least once a week.
  Windows 8 uses smart hibernating technique to speed up its start-up nad shutdown. This feature needs a tweak. Fresh start-up of services and other features can boost your system's performance, so give your system a restart when feel if lagging.
  
  
• Install .net 3.5 update manually from your Windows 8 installation disk.
  Some programs before installation may notify to install the .net 3.5 feature in win 8, but if you try to install it, it fails in most cases, you can install these features manually by following these simple steps.
  
  
• Keep visiting Microsoft Store and update your Metro Apps
  Windows update does not updates the Metro Style Apps in windows 8. You may update them manually by opening the store and selecting to update them.
  
  
• Never force install any incompatible program in your windows 8
  Windows 8 is a new OS and its core may not support various applications that were made for Windows 7 and other older versions. Forcing to install these apps can make your system unstable and even crash it.
